Roger is a three year old registered therapy cat with Pet Partners who lives in the Phoenix, Arizona area who provides animal assisted therapy. He was born in a shed in downtown Phoenix and raised by a cat mom and an Italian Greyhound dad. Roger was adopted by his human partner Tracy Howell at three months old but she had been visiting him since birth.
From the beginning, Tracy noticed Roger's outgoing and adventurous spirit. He seemed to love meeting new people and going places. It did not seem fair to Tracy to keep him locked inside so she began to research how they could become a therapy team and volunteer together. When he turned one year old he took the test for Pet Partners and passed!
In his two years of volunteer work Roger has met thousands of people, been a panelist at the 2017 Annual Assembly of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and guest lectured at the University of New Hampshire. Roger primarily visits patients for Hospice of the Valley and students at Barrett Honors College but if you would like to discuss having Roger visit your facility in the greater Phoenix area, send us an email.
